What is Logarithm Equation?

A logarithm answers the question "what power do I raise the base to?" — log_b(x) = y means bʸ = x. Being able to swap between the logarithmic and exponential form solves any one missing piece of the three.

How it works

Missing the result, the tool divides two logarithms (change of base); missing the argument, it raises the base to the result; missing the base, it takes the result-th root of the argument. The domain rules a logarithm requires — a positive argument and a base that is positive and not 1 — are enforced with a message instead of an empty answer.
