What is Rail Fence?
The rail fence cipher rearranges letters rather than substituting them. With enough rails the plaintext shape becomes invisible, though letter frequencies are untouched.
How it works
Characters are placed on a zigzag path between the first and last rail, then concatenated rail by rail. Decryption simulates the zigzag to recover each rail's length and reads the path back.
