What is PIN?

A PIN generator for numeric codes, with a strict mode that rejects runs like 1122 that people often guess.

How it works

Digits are drawn from crypto.getRandomValues; strict mode re-rolls until no adjacent repeated digits remain (capped attempts).

Examples

Secure-ish PINs

Generate a 4–6 digit PIN, with options to avoid repeated digits and sequential runs.

Common mistakes

Predictable patterns

1234, 0000, and birth years are the first combinations attackers try — let the generator avoid them.

Frequently asked questions

Are short PINs secure?

A 4-digit PIN has only ~13 bits of entropy — fine for low-value unlock screens with rate limiting, but never use one for sensitive accounts.
