Limit Calculator
Evaluate a limit numerically from either side and show the approach table.
What is Limit?
A limit is the value a function approaches as x gets arbitrarily close to a point, whether or not the function is defined there. It is the foundation the derivative is built on: the derivative is the limit of a difference quotient.
How it works
The tool substitutes the point first, then approaches it at h = 10⁻¹ down to 10⁻⁷ from the requested side and reads off whether the values settle. When a removable discontinuity makes the function undefined at the point, the table shows the values converging anyway, and differing one-sided limits are reported as a limit that does not exist.
