Salted Hash Generator
Hash text with a salt using a choice of algorithms.
What is Salted Hash?
An educational complement to plain hashing: it demonstrates why a salt matters by hashing text together with a salt and returning both.
How it works
A random salt is generated (or provided) and concatenated with the text before hashing via Web Crypto; the salt and digest are both shown.

Examples
Per-user password hashing
Generate a hash of a password combined with a random per-user salt — the storage pattern for credential databases.
Common mistakes
A shared app-wide salt
Salts must be unique per user — a fixed salt lets attackers precompute tables for the whole database at once.
Frequently asked questions
Is a salted SHA-256 hash enough?
For passwords, prefer a dedicated slow hash like bcrypt or Argon2. A salted fast hash is better than nothing but weaker.
How is the salt included in the output?
The salt is prepended to the hash (salt$hash), so verification needs no separate salt field.
