What is Binomial Distribution?

The binomial distribution is the family of probabilities for the number of successes in n independent trials. Its shape is set by p: near 0.5 it is symmetric, near 0 or 1 it is skewed, and as n grows it approaches the normal curve.

How it works

Every term from k = 0 to n is computed with the same log-space PMF as the single-probability page, then drawn as an inline SVG bar chart with the modal value highlighted. The mean np and variance np(1 − p) are reported so the centre and spread can be read off without scanning the bars.
