What is Staff Paper?
Manuscript paper is blank sheet music: repeated five-line staves where notes are written. The right number of staves depends on what you are writing — around 6 for a lead sheet with chords, 10–12 for a solo score, more for condensed sketches.
How it works
Each stave is five lines with the standard proportional line gap, and whatever remains of the pitch becomes the gap between systems. In fill-the-page mode the stave count is derived from the printable height and the pitch is spread evenly, so no half-stave is ever left stranded at the bottom edge. Faint barline guides mark each quarter of the system.
