What is Dice Roller?

Virtual dice are useful both for games — where a lost die stalls the lesson — and for probability work, where you want a lot of rolls quickly. The rollers that disappoint do so by smoothing the results: a distribution that is not uniform is visible in a bar chart within a few hundred rolls, and it undermines the maths.

How it works

Every die is an independent uniform draw from 1 to the number of sides you choose, so each face has the same probability — nothing is averaged or nudged towards the middle. The possible range is shown next to the total, which is useful when a game depends on a target being reachable at all, and the last ten rolls are kept so the class can look back at what just happened.
